Sand and gravel producers often have to deal with difficult feed material and although logwashers can do an effective job in many applications the advantages of a scrubber barrel is firstly that often it can accept an all in feed which reduces the need to separate the sand particles prior to scrubbing. Secondly, a barrel can accept much larger fragments and finally much larger tonnages can be achieved through the barrel.
The shell of the drum is manufactured from 15mmm thick rolled steel plate which is lined with rubber impact pads, kicker bars and extractor paddles. The robust barrel design incorporates a roller path that produces a concentric and smooth drive. Two direct geared electric motors power the heavy-duty truck tyres that drive the barrel, which provide a smooth, quiet drive eliminating excessive vibration and load on the support structure.
